The brand new "build your own level" game has launched, and it's amazing

The (Zelda) Dungeon Maker We Have Been Waiting For | Quest Master

If you are looking for a game that has endless content, Quest Master might be your next game. Channeling that same endless entertainment loop as the Super Mario Maker series, Quest Master allows players to both make their own levels as well as play other levels players have posted on the server.

If you have spent any time around Nintendo or its IPs, you have most likely heard of the popular game Mario Maker 2. This game lets the players run wild and create the most simple or diabolical contraptions to ever be seen. With everything and the kitchen sink to toss into a level, fans have made some of the best new content that keeps players returning to test their skills years after the game’s initial release and hype window. Now, take that concept and shove it into a Zelda inspired setting.

I am never the most creative when it comes to making things in any type of level creator, but I do love playing whatever concoctions others have made. At the time of this review, Quest Master is still in Early Access, but already has a plethora of options when it comes to constructing whole dungeon layouts. From multiple environments, different monsters, and being able to hide items in chests or as monster drops, this game already has so much potential to become one of the best level makers out there. Made in a beautiful art style that will have you reminiscing about the old school Zelda games, this game is the spiritual filler for the Legend of Zelda Maker that fans have been begging for.

Now, I don’t want to overly compare this game to Zelda because it is said that this game will offer its own solo campaign with a unique story, and therefore, not want to be known as some Zelda clone. Just know, the feeling is similar, but the IP are not the same.

I have spent some time looking through all of the tools to make my own dungeon, even though I can’t make one to save my life, and there is so much more than anticipated right from the start. Jumping into the player made levels gives a huge range of dungeon types. Some are recreations of old Zelda dungeons, some are boss runs, and even puzzle levels. There will be something for everyone and the level of creativity is definitely there. This is the perfect game for casual gamers who are looking for an endless amount of fun.

Even now, while in Early Access, there are already so many levels hand crafted by passionate players. I can only imagine what the online boards will look like in a few months time after more eyes fall onto Quest Master. Already set up with a tag system and multiple ways to sort the courses, I think that this game can blow up to the same mass popularity as Super Mario Maker 2.

I already plan to come back after the solo campaign is released because I expect good things. A lot of love and effort has already been poured into Quest Master, and I know that the passion will continue to be put in with every update. This is a game that I really want other people to try out, I think this can fill a void that a lot of fans of Nintendo have been hunting for.
