The Perfect Plant Game | Urban Jungle Review
Urban Jungle is a new, relaxing game that has you placing plants around your home while telling an enriching narrative about a young girl's life

A brand new game focusing on filling rooms with beautiful plants has launched! Urban Jungle is a lovely, heart-warming narrative about a young girl connecting to her grandmother through a mutual love of houseplants.
Taking a similar path to the popular game Unpacking, Urban Jungle’s levels are divided up into homes and apartments during major points in the main character’s life. Starting out in your grandmother’s home, you begin your introduction to our lifelong love of plants. You help your grandmother by placing plants around her home. Now it’s not as simple as putting plants in random places around the room. Plants are delicate and have specific needs depending on their species. Some need direct sunlight or love high humidity, while others don’t want either. It is up to you to match the plant’s requirements with the placement in the house. If you want to go one step further, you can check to see which plants like to be around others.
Each level has you buying plants (with a lot being free) from a small shop. Do mini-missions that range from petting your adorable cat to having three plants meet all the requirements. Completing all of these will help you earn an achievement and get you coins to buy more rare plants. Each new plant you buy will be documented in a plant journal. There are so many types of plant species and variations, with a range from common and rare.
The main goal of the plant placement is to spruce up the room and try to earn the highest score. Each plant you place successfully will boost your score and earn coins. Put as many plants in a room as you can and make the ultimate cozy apartment.
The story line showcases a girl staying strong as she moves through life. The younger sister of a talented academic brother and single mother wanting her to focus more on books than her plants, she keeps pushing forward, and no matter where she moves, the room is filled with beautiful plants.
This is a sweet, sometimes anguish-filled, life story. It’s like living through a biography. I won’t say any more about the narrative because that is something every player should experience firsthand. Take your time, go through each level, unpack all the moving boxes, and fill each room with plants. There will be phone calls and narrative bits intertwined within each level and allows the story to unveil itself while not breaking the flow of the gameplay.
This game is an amazing one for relaxing. The ability to interact with nearly everything in the rooms allows you to decorate each level however you like. The puzzle aspect is easy enough to want to keep trying to get a higher score, and all of the Steam achievements are easily achievable. I highly recommend Urban Jungle to anyone who is a fan of decorating games and simple puzzle games!
