Are The DLC Worth It? | A Little to the Left Cupboards and Drawers + Seeing Stars
DLC packs can be hit or miss, so how does A Little to the Left's two DLC packs hold up?
Most games nowadays come with DLC, it’s very common to see. A Little to the Left is one of those many games. Having two DLC packs come out in year intervals, the Cupboards and Drawers DLC graced us in 2023 with Seeing Stars debuting in 2024. Both packs bring more of the same relaxing organizing and puzzles for those of us who just can’t stop after the base game.
Cupboards and Drawers, as the name suggests, focuses on putting things back in their proper place, but with a few doors to open. There are a lot more hidden objects to find in this set. I loved this set the most out of all three packs because of the structure of the puzzles. There was a huge focus on organizing, putting all the pieces into their perfect slot over brain puzzles where you need to solve something. This was two hours of my brain barely being on and just being able to sort to my heart’s content.
The Seeing Stars DLC pack was longer than I expected. With the base game and first DLC being around two hours each, I was expecting this to be around the same. I was not expecting nearly four hours of content. Not only was the game longer, most of the puzzles had four or five ways to solve them. There were only a handful of levels with a single solution, so get use to spending some time with each puzzle. I used hints the most in this pack due to the high number of solutions. Most of the time, I could find some of the solutions, but I would be stumped on the last one or two ways. This pack was the most impressive in terms of how the puzzles were set up. There were so many things you can interact with, from the environment to the objects themselves. So many times, I would find myself mixing up two different solutions and then being incredibly lost in what I was supposed to do.
Both of these DLC’s are well worth it if you enjoyed the style of the base game. They are just extensions upon the base game, but I can see how the developers are improving their skills and adding little bits to both the DLC packs. You can easily see all the passion that was poured into everything they put out.
