Explore through the shadows as you try to reunite with your human

A Story of Shadows and Growth | SCHiM Review

How would you like to play as a shadow trying to reunite with their human? Watch a young boy go through major life achievements from graduating, getting a girlfriend, and getting a first job. Sadly, after getting fried from their current job, you and your human get separated.

Now you have to swim and jump your way through other shadows to get closer to finding your human. Since you are a shadow yourself, you can only survive in the safe inky darkness of other shadows. There are a handful of simple puzzles to solve to progress, none of them will have you stuck for more than a few minutes. This makes this game perfect for mindless play sessions or for someone newer to gaming.

The gameplay consists of jumping from shadow to shadow over the course of your roughly four hour journey to reunite. With how minimalistic the controls I find it smart that the game is on the shorter side. you can jump to other puddles or fling your self with certain objects, but there’s not much more to the game than that. The story really carries the progression. The sections you travel through are all pretty similar so if the game was any longer, it would get repetitive and lose its charm.

Since the game is so simple, there’s not much more to say about it. I would highly suggest to try it on a weekend and relax with a heartfelt story and satisfying gameplay.
